Impressions count how many times the image has been downloaded and shown by a browser clicks count how many times the ad banner has been clicked by browser users.

M provided a solid answer, if I may add the ratio of clicks to impressions is called the click through rate, 1 click per 200 showings of an ad would yield a 0.5% ctr, a not uncommon stat. A low ctr in pay per click advertisements, due to poor quality ad text, will cause the keyword quality rating to go down and the cost per click to go up.
